Evaluation

Evaluation will be an ongoing process; We will look at how the toilet and tank are functioning and see if there are any improvements that can be made or any extra design elements that could be incorporated into similair designs in the future.
The process of designing and running the course was very intense, holding it all together and making sure everything was running smoothly took a great deal of energy.
The builds (compost toilet and ferrocement tank) both went very well and Matt and I were very pleased with both the progress and the group dynamics.
Teaching the theory classes during the intro was also very positive. I've taught a few classes in other workshops and PDCs before but definitely want to push my edge in this respect and try and gain extra experience. I feel as though I'm pushing myself beyond my comfort zone when i teach and I see that as a positive.

At the end of the course we encouraged feedback from the participants. We asked them to write honestly about how they felt the course went, what was good, what was challenging and what they think might be improved upon, covering everything from food to facilities, course content to schedule etc.
Matt and I were pleased to discover that everyone had had a great time and there were very few issues. The only negative feedback was concerning the intensity of the schedule, somebody thought that we could have designed in more time off.
I think that although it's certainly true that the schedule was intense, it's no more than what was clearly advertised on the Posters and the website.
