Maintain Project 5:
Clearly project 5 is creating the design & the execution of that design: A consultancy company that
also offers workshops & courses. There are four key areas that require on
going maintenance.
Developing the website; Updating – Adding recent / current work. Embed some fancy stuff. Kinda
want it to look more like a book rather than a web site. It is a state of
constant flux that is on going.
~Responding to enquiries via e-mail; Swift concise responses, Identifying where & when
to meet with clients. Prioritising. Asking the right questions. Make the correct
decisions.
~Preparation;
Researching, organising – Creating time to do this. Designing time in for rest
& reflection.
~ Actual design
work. We will spend a month is Kenya assisting a client in visioning
designing her land. We are teaching a workshop 17th- 31st of October. We
are also meeting several other people to discuss possibility’s of working
together.
Below is a calender
showing our schedule; where we will be & when. It also includes deadlines
for diploma projects / out puts although these are subject to change. There are
sign that we make take a break – More information is in the pipeline.
Mission Statement / Vision.
To offer a professional service that meet the needs of the client
whilst respecting the three ethics of Permaculture: Earth Care, People Care&
Fair Share.
Always aiming to create low maintenance systems that benefit all
involved, working with rather than against nature, integrating local &
indigenous knowledge with modern appropriate technology. With the intention to
create functional, practical solutions that are both aesthetically pleasing
&
realistic.
Continuously aiming to design in a diversity
of incomes that are ethical and sustainable, respecting local people, customs
& nature. We are passionate about working with local folk to co-create &
design dynamic systems that function with less inputs over time whilst providing
a range of yields. Offer a long term commitment assisting in growth &
management over space & time. Offering advice & an on going
consultation.
Identifying Niches:
We have recently identified a niche in the market for "permascaping" a term that I have just coined for want of a better phrase. This is a blurring of the boundaries between permaculture design / implementation and traditional landscaping. Focusing on affluent families with young children in urban / suburban environments.
Permascaping aims to create beautiful, aesthetically pleasing spaces with some perennial food/fruit production and the incorporation of childrens play areas. Using small and slow solutions we design spaces for minimum maintenance whilst yielding more delicious organic produce over time. Perfect for those members of society who are interested and receptive to the ideas and philosophies of the "green" movement but are not yet ready for full-scale retrofitting.
Breaking permaculture into bite sized chunks and making the ethics and principles mor accessable to a wider audience.
Holistic Regeneration has recently completed its first permascaping job for a family of 4 in Leamington Spa, UK.
The job went really well and was an instant hit with both the parents and children. It also generated a great deal of interest from passers-by stopping to look at what was going on. This has led us to the conclusion that there's a genuine niche in the market for Permascaping and it is our intention to set up a website to advertise these services in the near future.
Introduction to Ecovillage design, Deep ecology, Community building & Permaculture 17/10/12 - 31/10/12
Running courses and workshops and tailoring them to meet the needs / interests of a wider audience is a big part of Holistic regenerations focus.
This course weaves these different elements of Ecovillage design, deep ecology, community building and permaculture into one cohesive package showing the interconnections between all disciplines and giving participants a good grounding in each of the subjects.
